Nature’s Nest is located in the heart of the Western Ghats. Western Ghats is a global biodiversity hotspot and has over 7,402 species of flowering plants, 1,814 species of non-flowering plants, 139 mammal species, 508 bird species, 179 amphibian species, 6,000 insects species and 290 freshwater fish species. At least 325 globally threatened species occur in the Western Ghats. Having one of the oldest rainforest on the planet biodiversity found here even rivals that of the Amazon. Mollem National Park and Bhagvan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary are two protected areas in the Western Ghats of Goa. The buffer area outside the park is privately owned. Large private land holdings in this buffer area possess huge potential to be hotspots for survival of wildlife.
