Birding Camps by Nature's Nest are fun filled learning camps conducted by Mr. Pankaj Lad. These are not only for sighting the endemic and Western Ghats key species but also a great learning experience on field where in you will learn the basics of bird ethology.
Arrival and transfer to Nature's Nest followed by birding in the evening in Tambdi Surla area of Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and will continue for nightjars till late evening.

Birding in Nature's Nest and surrounding areas followed by a boat trip in River Zuari

You are picked up from Margao station at 10.00 am and transferred to Nature’s Nest. Its about 75 minutes drive for 50km traversing Goa from west to east. Upon arrival at the resort you are welcomed with a refreshing welcome drink. After the check in formalities you are escorted to your cottage.
Lunch is served between 12.30 pm.- 2.30 pm. At 3.30 pm the evening tea is served and you set off for an evening birding session in the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary accompanied by our naturalist. The trail will be in the Tambdi Surla area of the sanctuary. You will be able to spot birds like Blue-eared Kingfisher, Brown-breasted Flycatcher, Malabar Whistling Thrush, Grey Junglefowl, Mountain Imperial Pigeon, Malabar Parakeet, Malabar Pied Hornbills, Malabar Barbet, Black-naped Monarch, Chestnut-headed Bee-eater and Dark-fronted Babbler.
You will be staying there till it gets dark so that you can spot some nocturnal species like Jerdon’s Nightjar, Jungle Nightjar.
Dinner is served at 8.00 pm. Post dinner the day will be summarised with species checklist and other information about the species.
The morning session starts at 6.30 am after the morning tea. You will be taken to Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary where you will be birding till noon. Bondla is one of the best locations for birding within Goa. You can spot birds like Grey-fronted Green Pigeon, Malabar trogon, Malabar Grey Hornbill, Velvet-fronted Nuthatch, White-rumped Shama, Asian Fairy Bluebird, Orange Minivet, White-bellied Blue Flycatcher, Black-throated Munia, Malabar Woodshrike, Black-hooded Oriole, Blyth’s Starling and so on.
We return to Nature’s Nest for Lunch. You again move out for an evening birding session after your evening tea. This time you will cover the forest around Nature’s Nest which is also part of the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary.
You will be back for dinner. Post dinner the day will be summarised with species checklist and other information about the species.
The next morning birding will be within the property for birds like Crimson-backed Sunbird, Purple Sunbird, Loten’s Sunbird, Little Spiderhunter, Vernal Hanging Parrot, Jerdon’s Leafbird and Nilgiri flowerpecker. This will be followed by birding in the vicinity of Nature’s Nest.
Post lunch and check out we will head for a Boat trip in River Zuari to cover the mangrove species like Collared Kingfisher, Black-capped Kingfisher, Osprey White-bellied Sea Eagle, Woolly-necked Stork and so on.
Then we head for an early lunch. Post lunch we head to a marshland for another hour of birding. Post birding you are dropped to the station by 4.30 pm.
