Cover some of the most enigmatic species in the Western Ghats. A 3 day camp to explore the rich birdlife of Goa’s Western Ghats (Extension available to cover other areas and more days. Please inquire.)  Learn about birds, bird watching, bird calls, habitat and so on! 

Expert guides who have spent over a decade guiding in the region will guide you. In addition to the day Birding, you will also explore trails for nocturnal birding.

Key Species

Key species include Malabar Trogon, Sri Lanka Frogmouth, Heart-spotted Woodpecker, Malabar Parakeet, Malabar Pied Hornbill, Malabar Grey Hornbill, Malabar Wood-shrike, Blyth’s Starling, Nilgiris Flowerpecker, Flame-throated Bulbul, Crimson-backed Sunbird, Blue-eared Kingfisher, Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher, Forest Wagtails, Western Crowned Warbler, Velvet-fronted Nuthatch and so on. The diversity of bird species in the Western Ghats makes it a truly unique bird watching place, providing sightings of native and migratory birds that are difficult to find elsewhere. Our knowledgeable guides will not only help you find bird watching spots in Goa but will also provide interesting facts and insights about their behavior, habitats, and conservation efforts.

Itinerary

Day 1: Tambdi Surla area of Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary

Check in at 12 noon followed by buffet lunch

First birding session starts at 3.30 pm after a cup of tea

In the meanwhile you may spend time at the water station for birds set up next to the restaurant or may laze around the property looking for species

You will head towards Tambdi Surla with our guide covering some of the elusive species for the evening.  Return to the resort.

Day 2: Bondla and Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary

Early morning tea/ coffee followed by birding session en route Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary till late morning-early noon, depending upon sightings.  Packed breakfast will be provided.. Bondla is home to a variety of species like the Grey-fronted Green Pigeon, Malabar Trogon, Malabar Grey Hornbill, Velvet-fronted Nuthatch, White-rumped Shama, Asian Fairy Bluebird, Orange Minivet, White-bellied Blue Flycatcher, Black-throated Munia, Malabar Woodshrike, Black-hooded Oriole, and Blyth’s Starling. You then return to Nature’s Nest for lunch.

After evening tea, you’ll go for another birding session in the forest around Nature’s Nest, part of the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. This is the perfect bird watching place for nocturnal species like Jerdon’s Nightjar, Jungle Nightjar, and Sri Lanka Frogmouth. 

You’ll return for dinner to the resort.

Day 3: Nature’s Nest and surroundings

In the morning, you’ll go on a birdwatching session within and around the property to spot species like Crimson-backed Sunbird, Purple Sunbird, Loten’s Sunbird, Little Spiderhunter, Vernal Hanging Parrot, Jerdon’s Leafbird, and Nilgiri flowerpecker. 

Back to the resort for breakfast followed by leisure time and check-out with amazing memories

On double/twin sharing basis: Rs 12,900/- per person

On single occupancy: Rs. 18,800/- per person
